Introducing Bamba London Club
A dream was born.
My name is David and I’m the founder of Bamba London Club. I live in East London together with my wife and two children but my roots are from Senegal. Upon my last visit in 2022 I came across the beautiful Bogolan mud cloth fabrics and instantly fell in love.
Having a background in fashion, interiors and textiles, the idea to start a new lifestyle brand bringing the traditional African textiles to meet the modern home was born.
I source the fabrics from Africa and design the collection, the cushions, planters and tote bags are sewn in East London. Handmade with love from Africa to East London.
Thank you for following along on my journey!

The Bogolan textile
All textile products at Bamba London Club are made from beautiful Bogolan fabric. Bogolan means made with earth and is a handmade, cotton fabric which has traditionally been dyed with fermented mud in a complex process which can take weeks to complete. The tradition of making cloth out of mud is thousands of years old.
The art form, originated in Mail, is still practiced today by many African countries. It has been passed down through generations keeping the art form alive.
The process begins with locally grown cotton, which is woven into long, narrow strips and then sewn together to create a larger fabric piece.
The fabrics are then dyed and decorated with symbolic painted onto the cloth with mud and then washed. The process is repeated to create different patterns and hues giving each piece of fabric a story of their own.
